Privacy policy
Last updated October 10, 2026. Welch Properties makes Hole19Tally. This explains what the app stores, what it sends to our servers, and your choices.
What stays on your device
The golfers you save (names, Handicap Index, optional GHIN number, home club, usual tee), groups, game presets, courses, round history and settings are stored on your device. Contact details you import for an outing roster (address, phone, email, age, gender) also stay on the organizer's device. Deleting your data in Settings erases them.
What goes to our servers
- Live events. If you join an event with a code, the server stores your name, team, flight, tee time, Handicap Index if you give it, the scores you or your group enter, and the messages you post, so other players can see the leaderboard and banter. The server shows other players your scores only for the holes they have also entered. The organizer can see all scores and can delete messages. Direct messages are visible only to the people in them.
- Course lookups. A search for a course goes through our server to a public course database. We send the search text, not your name or any personal data.
- Diagnostics. To find and fix problems the app sends which screens are used, error types and where they happened, failed requests, and signals that someone may be stuck, with a random install ID that we hash. It never sends scores, messages, names, GHIN numbers, contact details, join codes or anything you type, except the text of a problem report you choose to send. You can turn this off in Settings. We delete diagnostics after 90 days.
This website
- No cookies and no tracking. This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts, and it loads no fonts or files from other sites. The calculators run in your browser and send nothing to us.
- Organizer form. If you fill in the form on the outings page, we store the name, email address, event size and month that you type, so we can reply to you. They are kept on our server and in our customer-relationship tool (GoHighLevel), which we use to follow up about your event. We do not send automatic emails or add you to a marketing mailing list without asking, and we do not sell or share these details with anyone else. We keep no IP address or device details with them. A spam filter limits how often one connection can send the form.
- Unsubscribe and deletion. To have your form details deleted, or to be sure you are never contacted, write to the support contact shown on this page once it is published and we will delete them.
- Server logs. Our host records the page requested, the response and the time, not your name or email address.
Accounts and your mobile number
- Optional account. An account lets an organizer set up events on a computer and use them on a phone. The app works without one. To make an account you give a mobile number, a display name and a password. An email address is optional.
- How the number is used. We use your number only to verify and secure your account: we text a one-time code when you sign up, when you sign in on a new device, and when you reset your password, change your number or delete your account. We send no marketing texts.
- How the number is stored. We do not keep the number itself. We store a one-way hash of it, which lets us recognize it when you type it again, and its last four digits so the app can show it masked. Because of this, you type your number each time you sign in.
- Who sends the texts. Texts are sent by a messaging provider (Twilio), which receives the number at the moment a code is sent. Message and data rates may apply.
- Your saved items. Signed-in devices sync your saved golfers, groups, presets, courses, tournaments and round history to our server so they appear on your other devices. Passwords are stored hashed.
- Deleting. Delete your account in Settings (it needs your password and a code texted to your number). That removes your synced items, your sign-ins and trusted devices, and your number hash and last four digits. If you lose your phone, use your recovery code or contact the support contact shown on this page once it is published.
Purchases
Purchases are made through Apple or Google. We never see your card details. We keep only whether Premium is active.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not show third-party ads or use advertising or analytics SDKs.
- We do not hold or move money.
Where it is stored
Our server and database are hosted by Railway in the United States. Access keys are stored hashed.
Your choices
- Delete everything on your device from Settings, which also clears diagnostics.
- Delete your account and everything synced to it from Settings > Account.
- Ask us to delete your data from a live event, or delete a message, by contacting the support contact shown on this page once it is published.
- Ask us to delete your organizer form details by contacting the support contact shown on this page once it is published.
- Turn diagnostics off in Settings.
Children
The app is for adults. It asks you to confirm you are 18 or older (or the legal age where you live) the first time you open it, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
